General Services
What areas do you service?
We proudly serve Adams County, PA and Frederick County, MD as our primary service areas. We also offer expanded service for certain services into select areas of Carroll, Washington, and Franklin Counties. This includes over 65 communities across the region. How do I get a quote for services?
Getting a quote is easy! You can click the "Get a Quote" button in the navigation, fill out our contact form, call us at (240) 446-0994, or email us at jwalter@jandkmowingllc.com. We'll schedule a time to assess your property and provide a detailed, personalized estimate.
Are you licensed and insured
Yes, JNK Mowing is fully licensed and insured. We carry comprehensive liability insurance to protect both our team and your property. We are also properly licensed for pesticide application in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept multiple payment methods including cash, check, and major credit cards. For seasonal packages, we offer flexible payment plans to make our services more accessible.
Weekly Mowing
How often do you mow?
Our standard service is weekly mowing throughout the growing season (April through October). This ensures your lawn always looks its best and stays healthy. We can also accommodate bi-weekly schedules if needed.
What does mowing service include?
Our mowing service includes professional mowing with commercial-grade equipment, edging along all hardscapes (sidewalks, driveways, patios), string trimming around obstacles and tight areas, and complete cleanup with all clippings blown off hardscapes.
What if it rains on my scheduled day?
We monitor weather closely and adjust our schedule as needed. If rain prevents service on your scheduled day, we'll come the next available day when conditions allow. Your lawn will still receive weekly service - just shifted by a day or two.
Fertilization Program
How many applications are included?
Our comprehensive fertilization program includes 5 applications strategically timed throughout the year to maximize lawn health. Each application is customized based on seasonal needs and your lawn's specific requirements.
How long until I see results?
You'll start to notice improvements within 2-4 weeks of the first application, but the full transformation takes time. Our program is designed to build thick, healthy, green lawns over approximately one year of consistent applications. Patience and consistency are key to achieving the best results.
Do you offer a soil test?
Yes! We provide a FREE pH soil test as part of our fertilization program. This test helps us understand your soil's current condition and determine if lime treatment is needed to optimize pH levels for healthy grass growth.
Is weed control included?
Yes, our fertilization program includes both pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control. We target weeds before they sprout and treat existing weeds to give your grass the best chance to thrive.
What about the $55 Green Lawn Guarantee
Our $500 Green Lawn Guarantee is our commitment to your lawn's success. If you follow our fertilization program recommendations and don't see significant improvement, we'll work with you to make it right. Details are available in our premium fertilization package.
Mosquito & Tick Control
How often do you spray?
We apply our barrier spray treatment every 3 weeks throughout the mosquito season (typically April through October). This regular schedule ensures continuous protection for you and your family.
Is the spray safe for children and pets?
Yes, we use EPA-registered products that are safe when applied properly. We recommend keeping children and pets off treated areas until the spray has dried (typically 30 minutes to 1 hour). Once dry, the area is safe for normal use.
How effective is the barrier spray?
Our barrier spray system is highly effective at reducing mosquito, tick, and flea populations by 85-90% when applied consistently. We target areas where these pests breed and rest, creating a protective barrier around your property.
Do I need to be hoe for the application?
No, you don't need to be home. We just ask that you close windows and doors, and bring in any pet bowls or toys from the treatment area. We'll leave a door hanger when the service is complete.
Seasonal Services
When should I schedule spring cleanup?
We recommend scheduling spring cleanup in late March or early April, once the ground has thawed and before active grass growth begins. This is the perfect time to remove winter debris, prepare beds, and get your lawn ready for the growing season.
What does fall cleanup include?
Fall cleanup includes complete leaf removal from lawn and beds, final mowing of the season, bed cleanup and preparation for winter, trimming of perennials, and blowing off all hardscapes. We ensure your property is clean and ready for winter.
Should I aerate and overseed every year?
For most lawns in our area, we recommend core aeration annually (fall is best) and overseeding as needed based on lawn density. Aeration relieves soil compaction and improves water/nutrient absorption, while overseeding fills in thin areas and introduces improved grass varieties.

Do you offer package deals?
Yes! We offer several comprehensive packages including Seasonal Grounds Maintenance (31 weeks of mowing + cleanups), Fertilization Program (5 applications), Mosquito & Tick Control, and The Complete Package (everything combined). Packages offer better value than individual services.
Can I customize a package?
Absolutely! While our standard packages are designed to meet most needs, we're happy to customize a service plan that fits your specific requirements and budget. Contact us to discuss your needs.
Do you offer discounts?
We offer package pricing that provides savings compared to individual services. We also occasionally run seasonal promotions. Additionally, referrals are always appreciated - ask about our referral program!
